Georgia Sinclair, MA
Eating Disorder Recovery Coach and Intake Coordinator
Goal oriented: Georgia will help you meet recovery goals in real time and can provide services like meal support, challenge food exposures, grocery planning and shopping, getting rid of old clothes, practicing new coping skills, providing emotion regulation support, assertive communication skills, specific coping tools for eating disorder urges, body image healing support and more.
Non-pathological: in coaching, there is no diagnosis. While you may receive a diagnosis from your medical doctor or therapist, that is not the focus in coaching. In coaching we see you as a whole person, not a label or problem to be solved. While we know diagnosis can be validating, it can also be stigmatizing and we believe you are deserving of care no matter where you are in terms of meeting full criteria for an Eating Disorder.
Adjunct to therapy: many people find that meeting an hour a week with their therapist is not enough to process the roots of their Eating Disorder and work on challenging behaviors and practicing new coping skills in real time. Many people find they want more support or a different kind of support. Coaching is an incredible adjunct to therapy, meaning, some clients continue to work with their therapist but then also meet with a recovery coach for extra support between therapy sessions. Others use coaching as a standalone and find the focus on the present refreshing and more helpful than focusing on the past. We believe in your autonomy in choosing whatever set up is right for you and honor your decision making process.
