Body Justice Podcast 〰️
I started Body Justice Podcast in 2021 with two goals in mind: to amplify diverse voices in the Eating Disorder field and to provide free education and tools to anyone in active recovery from an Eating Disorder. Mainstream ED treatment tends to be catered to the thin, white, cisgender female demographic. While this demographic certainly struggles- most Eating Disorder sufferers hold identities outside of that stereotype. In fact, trans folks have the highest rates of EDs- and BIPOC folks are much more likely to go undiagnosed and untreated due to false stereotypes. Last but certainly not least- fat folks are believed to only have one type of Eating Disorder and are often met with stigma, blame and an immense lack of understanding. Eating disorders are deadly- no matter the size of the person suffering. We do an extreme disservice when we don’t listen to the voices outside of the mainstream margins. So, Body Justice was born. I hope you feel seen, understood and supported by the voices showcased in these episodes. I also hope you learn a thing or two and get to bring it into your own community- knowledge is truly power. You can find the full archive of episodes on both Apple and Spotify. Thank you for listening and supporting my mission!
