AN Anti-Oppression Approach to ERP

About the workshop:

This was a virtual workshop Allyson facilitated for ERP Kaleidoscope - a mental health collective focused on OCD in BIPOC communities, founded by Erin Nghe.

Allyson provided a two hour, APA, ACE and NBCC approved presentation on how to apply anti-oppression therapy frameworks to the treatment of OCD.

Learning objectives included:

  1. Explain How Socio-Cultural Influences Impact Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Development.

  2. Identify The Ways Gold Standard OCD Treatment is not Inclusive to People of all Backgrounds.

  3. List Three or More Anti-Opression Therapy Principles When Working with Clients Who Have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Using A Social Justice Framework.
